Muhammad Asad has joined as Managing Director of National Investment Trust Limited (NITL), Pakistan's oldest Asset Management Company, for a three-year term on July 16, 2026. Prior to joining NITL, Mr. Muhammad Asad has served as Chief Investment Officer of Al Meezan Investment Management Limited and was associated for 25 years with the firm. In that role, he has been responsible for managing and overseeing funds exceeding Rs 700 billion (US$2.5 billion), while also serving as second-in command at the company with additional oversight of Shariah compliance and a seat on its Investment Committee. He brings more than 30 years of experience across capital markets, investment banking, insurance and commercial banking at leading local and multinational institutions. Prior to Al Meezan, Muhammad Asad served as a Fund Manager at State Life Insurance Corporation of Pakistan, the country's largest Insurance Corporation, and earlier held a credit and marketing role at Habib Metropolitan Bank. He holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), University of Karachi.

Mr. Manzoor Ahmed is Chief Operating Officer of National Investment Trust Limited. Being, Chief Operating Officer (COO), he has been successfully managing operations and investment portfolio worth over Rs.215 billion. He brings over 35 years of extensive experience in the mutual fund and asset management industry. Throughout his career at NIT, he has held key leadership positions across capital market operations, investment management, product development, research, and regulatory liaison functions. He has also served thrice as Acting Managing Director of NIT, from May 2013 to May 2014, from September 2017 to February 2019and from February 2025 to July 2026. Mr. Ahmed holds an MBA degree and a D.A.I.B.P. qualification. He has also served as a Council Member of the Institute of Bankers Pakistan and is currently pursuing the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Level III qualification. He has further enhanced his professional expertise through various international training programs conducted by globally renowned institutions, including London Business School (UK), the Institute of Directors (London), and Financial Markets World (New York, USA). Mr. Ahmed has extensive board-level experience, having served on the boards of several leading companies across diverse sectors of the Pakistani economy. Currently, he represents NIT as a Nominee Director on the boards of multiple listed and multinational companies, including commercial banks in Pakistan. He is a Certified Director from the Pakistan Institute of Corporate Governance (PICG). In addition, he is an active member of the Defence Authority Country & Golf Club, Karachi, the Rotary Club of Karachi, and also serves on the Executive Committee of a charitable hospital dedicated to the welfare of underprivileged communities.

Mr. Abdul Rashid is Company Secretary and Head of Legal Affairs Department of NITL. He has over 30 years of experience with Corporate Affairs, Corporate Governance, Marketing and Legal Affairs Departments. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Law and a Master’s Degree in Economics from the University of Karachi. He is also a qualified DAIBP from the Institute of Bankers Pakistan.

Aamir joined NIT in July 2006 as Controller Accounts and elevated to the position of Head of Finance in January 2008. Mr. Amin is a Chartered Accountant by profession from Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP) with training from Ernst & Young - Pakistan and also a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA). He has work experience of over 16 years, substantially in financial services industry. He also represents NIT as Nominee Director on various Boards.

Asim Rafiq is NIT’s Head of Internal Audit and has an overall experience of more than 25 years in the field of accounts and audit. Prior to joining NIT, Mr. Rafiq worked for MCB Funds as Head of Funds Accounting & Operations. Mr. Rafiq is a Fellow Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP) with training from A.F. Ferguson & Co. (a member firm of PwC network). Mr. Rafiq also represents NIT as Nominee Director on the Boards of various listed companies and is a Certified Director from ICAP.
